Golding opens Swiss office, hires Frühauf

Munich-headquartered Golding Capital Partners has announced the opening of an office in Zurich, led by newly appointed managing director and head of Switzerland Beat Frühauf.
Frühauf has led the Zurich office since the start of August 2021, the GP said in a statement.
Prior to joining Golding, Frühauf was head of Theam Quant Funds Switzerland at BNP Paribas Schweiz. He also has previous experience as head of iShares at BlackRock in Switzerland, where he served institutional clients and specialised in sustainable investments. Before this, he held roles in the sales team of UBS and as an auditor at PwC.
The rationale behind the new office opening is to meet demand from Swiss investors for Golding's strategies, particularly those of infrastructure and private debt, via its funds-of-funds or managed accounts, according to the same statement.
In addition to its Munich headquarters, Golding has offices in Luxembourg, London, New York and Tokyo. The firm has more than 130 staff, according to its website.
The GP hired a new impact investing team in May 2021, appointing Andreas Nilsson and Nina Freudenberg, co-founders of impact fund management boutique Sonanz, to lead Golding's new strategy.
Golding held a EUR 161m first close for its latest co-investment fund in June 2021, as reported.
In February 2021, the GP held a final close for Golding Buyout 2018 on €375m, as reported.
