Guidepost leads USD 150m round for Atheneum Partners
Guidepost Growth Equity has led a USD 150m funding round for Germany-based research and knowledge-sharing platform Atheneum Partners.
Atheneum said in a statement that select LPs of Guidepost have also participated in the round, alongside Crosslantic Capital Management, Michael Brehm, Vogel Communications Group, and Atheneum's founding management team.
The fresh capital is intended to support the company's international expansion, including in the US. The company also intends to invest in technology and product development, as well as hiring new staff.
Roshen Menon and Chris Cavanagh, general partners at Guidepost, will join the company's board.
Guidepost is current deploying equity via its third fund, which has a USD 400m target. The firm invests in growth-stage technology companies in sectors including technology-enabled services, application software and data services.
Previous funding
Atheneum raised a EUR 10m round from Vogel Business Media, Senovo and several corporate and angel investors in June 2015.
In September 2018 and in April 2019, Crosslantic Capital provided two rounds of EUR 10m growth capital for the business, according to Unquote Data.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Berlin, Atheneum Partners is a research and insights platform for businesses that allows them to review and conduct research with more than 550,000 experts in areas. Atheneum provides "research as a service" products for corporates, life sciences companies, investment firms and consultancies.
According to its latest publicly available accounts, Atheneum Partners generated revenues of EUR 21.7m in 2019, a 36% increase on its EUR 16m turnover in 2018. TechCrunch reported that the company now posts more than USD 50m (EUR 42.5m) in revenues. Atheneum employs more than 400 staff, according to its website, with 10 offices across Europe, the US and Asia.
