HTGF completes hat-trick with perora deal
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has invested in perora, a German biotech company – its third investment announced in as many days.
HTGF's investment will be used to further develop and research perora's medical devices for the treatment of obesity and type II diabetes.
The capital injection is HTGF's third investment in start-ups in as many days. The VC also backed biotech company PS Biotech, a manufacturer of special microtiter plates for the screening of micro-organisms, and Somonic Solutions, a developer of measuring technology.
Company
perora was founded in 2013. The firm develops a polymer-based fat-binding medical device to help treat obesity. It does so using peroral nutrient neutralizers (PNNs). The polymer compositions are optimised to reduce the caloric load of food after ingestion.
