EQT invests in German online retailer
EQT Expansion Capital II has bought a minority stake in German online retailer Internetstores for €30m.
The firm bought the stake from private investors and will also inject additional capital. The company's CEO and founder, René Marius Köhler, keeps his majority stake.
The investment will contribute to further growth and international expansion of the business, which currently caters for predominantly German-speaking European markets.
Company
Internetstores sells bikes and outdoor products, such as camping equipment, to consumers online.
It was launched in 2003 and sits near Stuttgart, Germany.
The company has grown quickly since its inception, through acquisitions and organically. It expects to reach revenues of €60m in 2011/12 and currently sells over 50,000 products.
