Invision acquires majority stake in Schneider Group
Invision has acquired a majority stake in Swiss freight forwarder Schneider Group.
The investment is part of Schneider's succession solution, as the current president of the company's board is set to retire in 2016. Three Schneider managers have invested alongside the GP.
Invision sourced the proprietary deal through its network and the sales process took roughly six months. The GP stated that it was attracted by the company's market position and its loyal customer base.
Schneider marks the third investment of the Invision V vehicle, which reached a final close on €285m in July 2013.
Company
Founded in 1865 and based in Basel, Schneider is a mid-sized international freight forwarder. The logistics company plans and coordinates transnational cargo shipments at 16 locations in Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Austria and the US.
