
HTGF sells LED Exchange stake
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has sold its stake in LED Exchange to a private investor as part of the company’s series-B financing round.
HTGF originally committed seed funding to the lighting specialist in late 2012. LED Exchange received further capital from WFT, a venture financing society for the promotion of technology, in March 2013. HTGF decided to sell its shares to a private investor during the third financing round last month.
Neither the identity of the new investor nor the amount of the deal has been disclosed, but Guillem Sague, investment manager at HTGF, stated that the venture capital firm had realised a profitable exit from the investment.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Rheinbreitbach, LED Exchange sells proprietary LED lamps and tubes across 10 locations in Germany, as well as in the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, the UK, Iraq and Jordan. The bulbs aim to offer energy savings of between 70-90% in comparison to traditional lighting systems.
