
DailyDeal founders buy pepperbill from bm-t
Fabian and Ferry Heilemann, founders of DailyDeal, have acquired a 60% stake in iOS payment system provider pepperbill from bm-t Beteiligungsmanagement Thüringen and pepperbill's management.
The shares in pepperbill were acquired via the Heilemanns' investment company Holding Sky & Sand.
In 2012, bm-t invested an estimated six-figure amount in pepperbill, aiming to support the firm's expansion. The venture house originally held a 26.4% stake in pepperbill.
bm-t and pepperbill co-founder Volker Herwig now each hold a small minority stake.
Company
pepperbill provides its clients in the hospitality sector with systems that allow customers to order and pay their bills via iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The software is currently used in more than 70 cities.
The firm was founded in June last year and is based in Erfurt. It currently employs 12 staff.
People
Marcel Mansfeld and Andreas Stein also co-founded pepperbill. Christian Damjakob, managing director at bm-t, worked on the initial investment in pepperbill in 2012. Ferry Heilemann will become pepperbill's CEO.
