HTGF commits to embraase seed round
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has invested in Berlin-based software-as-a-service firm embraase, alongside Axel Springer’s Plug & Play Accelerator.
The fresh capital will be used for its product's development, launch and distribution setup.
According to embraase CEO Christian Stanke, the start-up plans to launch the product in the next few weeks and to subsequently generate turnover. He also stated that embraase would look to raise further funding by mid-2015.
As well as the €25,000 initially provided by the Axel Springer accelerator for running costs, it also followed up with additional funding. HTGF became involved after speaking to the embraase founders at a networking event hosted by the Axel Springer accelerator.
Company
Founded in mid-2013 in Berlin, embraase markets A/B testing and personalisation platforms for mobile apps, enabling developers and product managers to analyse their users' behaviour and optimise their apps in real time. The company currently employs six people, with a seventh to be hired imminently.
According to embraase, there are 2.5 million mobile apps available via iOS and Android, with up to 7,500 new ones released every day, but only 1-2% of users become paying customers. embraase facilitates the adaptation of apps, including all graphic and user interface elements, such as backgrounds, colours and texts, as well as the activation and deactivation of whole features.
People
Christian Stanke and Steffen Roemer are co-CEOs & co-founders of embraase. Stefan Wendel is investment manager at HTGF.
