HTGF backs bookingkit
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has injected seed capital into Berlin-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) start-up bookingkit.
HTGF invested approximately €500,000 into the company, alongside investment from business angel Robert Kabs, in order to develop new products and achieve sales growth.
The company claims the German leisure market is worth €8.4bn, though only around 40% of activities can be booked online at present.
HTGF usually invests €500,000 at the seed stage, with the potential to invest up to €1.5m in subsequent funding rounds. It is currently investing from its €304m HTGF II vehicle.
Company
Founded in 2014 by Christoph Kruse and Lukas Hempel, bookingkit's software provides leisure businesses with a digital booking platform. Companies are able to sell, promote and administrate their services via the platform, which can be used in conjunction with their existing websites. Users include cooking schools, such as kochschule.de, city tours and yoga studios. Bookingkit has around 10 employees.
