Speedinvest backs Hitbox's $4m series-A

Venture capital firm North Base Media, online gaming company Wargaming and several angel investors also participated in the round.

Hitbox will use the capital to establish its US office and to hire additional staff.

Speedinvest is an Austrian venture capital firm. It was founded in 2011 and its current fund has a size of €58m. The VC provides up to €500,000 in seed capital and up to €3m in follow-on investments. Its sector focus covers fintech, media and e-commerce.

Previous funding
In 2014, Speedinvest received $1m in seed financing from angel investors.

Founded in 2014 and based in Vienna, Hitbox is a gaming and e-sports live-streaming platform. The company states that is has won 6 million users to date.
