
HTGF provides seed funding to akvolution
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has provided seed financing to akvolution, a water-treatment technology company.
The company will use the funds to bring its technology to market in 2015.
Earlier this week, HTGF participated in a funding round for existing portfolio company Crealytics. The investors were thought to have provided around €5m to the German software firm.
Water treatment companies have long-attracted the asset class's interest; London-based Amplio Filtration Group, the water filtration subsidiary of Amplio Group (an operator and investor in the renewable energy and environment sector), received a €16m equity injection from Ambienta. In the exit space, VC firm Emerald Technology Ventures sold water treatment provider inge watertechnologies to chemical company BASF.
Company
Founded in 2013 and based in Berlin, akvolution provides water treatment and associated equipment. The firm span out of the Technische Universitat Berlin and raised pre-seed capital from the Exist-Technology Transfer Grant.
