
Omnes Capital leads €5m TVSmiles round
Berlin-based quiz app TVSmiles has raised €5m in a series-A round led by Omnes Capital.
TVSmiles also received capital from existing investors Ventech, e.ventures, German Startups Group, SevenOneMedia and business angels.
The company expects the developing UK business to match the turnover generated in its native German market. The fresh capital will be used for further expansion in the UK, as well as targeting other international markets, including the US.
Previous funding
TVSmiles picked up €7m in its first funding round in March 2014, which was led by Ventech. Other investors included German Startup Group, e.ventures, Brandenburg Ventures and Magix, as well as angel investors.

TVSmiles is a quiz app that rewards users with "Smiles" for interacting with TV and various digital ad formats. "Smiles" can be exchanged for rewards such as Amazon vouchers, PayPal credit, smartphones or tablets.
TVSmiles was launched in Germany in 2013 and has been downloaded around 3 million times. In Germany and the UK combined, TVSmiles currently reaches 650,000 monthly active users. The company has 60 employees.
