Khosla leads series-A for ParStream
Khosla Ventures has led a $5.6m funding round for German data analytics platform ParStream.
Other contributors to the round included Baker Capital, Crunch Fund, Tola Capital, Data Collective and private investors. The company will use the investment to further develop its products and accelerate growth in global markets.
The investment process was initiated by Parstream founders Michael Hummel and Jörg Bienert. ParStream had previously received funding from business angels following its initial bootstrapped development from the existing services business empulse.

ParStream is a "big data" analytics platform that filters and analyses vast amounts of data in a short time while importing data in real time. The company was founded in Cologne in 2008 and has offices in Palo Alto and Paris. The product is currently used in marketing, customer and operations analytics, and research.

Khosla partner Shirish Sathaye will join the company's board.
