
Antin acquires Amedes Group
Antin Infrastructure Partners has bought German lab diagnostics company Amedes Group from General Atlantic.
The deal is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities. It reportedly values the business in the region of €700-800m, with a debt package worth around €500m. The financing package was underwritten by Goldman Sachs, Nomura and CACIB.
Amedes was originally named Wagnerstibbe before General Atlantic acquired the laboratory chain in 2007 and rebranded it.
Antin recently bought Dutch fibre-optic network Eurofiber from Doughty Hanson for €875m in May. The GP closed its second fund on €2bn in June 2014.
Meanwhile, General Atlantic acquired a majority stake in coach companies Flixbus and MeinFernbus in January 2015, with plans to build a pan-European bus network.

Founded in 1987, Amedes is a provider of medical diagnostics services based in Hamburg. It employs 3,500 people aross 35 laboratories and 27 practices in Germany and Belgium.
