Faction raises further $3m
Ski equipment and apparel retailer Faction has received a further $3m in funding from Octopus Investments and London-based angel investors.
Angels investing alongside Octopus included Christopher Spray, formerly of Atlas Ventures, and London's Harvard Business School Alumni Angels.
The investment will support Faction's plans to double sales over the next 12 months. Faction Skis will simultaneously take over the Peloton & Co cycle cafe in London from October 25 to March 2014, to provide a hang-out area for ski enthusiasts to peruse the brand's ski collection and new winter apparel line.
Previous investment
The fresh funding follows last year's investment, which saw Octopus leading a $3m funding round, also supported by a group of angel investors.
Company
Established in 2006, Faction retails a variety of skis and accessories for winter sports. The company is based in Verbier, Switzerland.
People
Simon Andrews is a member of the venture team at Octopus. Tony McWilliam is Faction's co-founder and design director. Alex Hoye is Faction's co-founder and CEO.
