In a first round of institutional funding, gamma capital partners has led an undisclosed financing round in Austrian online trading platform FatFoogoo. The venture capitalist sourced the investment opportunity proprietarily. Existing investors Azzurro and marchsixteen also contributed to the round. The new capital will be used to fund the company’s market entry and European expansion. In January 2007, the company received seed financing from Azzuro, marchsixteen and business angel Michael Krammer.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs Martin Herdina and Daniel Petri in December 2006, FatFoogoo operates a service and trading platform for virtual goods and services. Extending online games and virtual worlds such as Second Life (TM) and World of Warcraft (TM) Community, Vienna-based FatFoogoo acts as a marketplace to trade, sell and exchange virtual goods and services for ‘real’ money. Additional features of the platform include community tools allowing users to socialise, organise and interact with each other.
