
HTGF backs exelonix in seed round
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has provided seed funding to exelonix, a provider of internet-based assistance systems for elderly people.
exelonix is developing the Asina tablet, which will launch in 2014. The business is looking to improve upon existing telephone emergency solutions for elderly people.
The capital will be used to further develop the tablet and finance pre-series trials with healthcare providers and telecommunication network operators.
HTGF typically invests €500,000 in seed financing rounds.
Company
exelonix was founded in April this year. Its product offers services such as home emergency calls and video calls with relatives. It is also planned to include vital monitoring and tele-medicine applications in the future. The company is based in Freital, Saxony.
People
Frank Schäfer and Matthias Stege are exelonix's managing directors and co-founders. Gerhard Fettweis is also exelonix's co-founder. Marco Winzer is an investment director at High-Tech Gründerfonds.
