In a first round of institutional funding BrainsToVentures (b-to-v) has invested an undisclosed amount in Frankfurt-based online social community platform Mamiweb. Business angel Professor Peter Kabel led the financing round. The new capital will be used to expand the company’s marketing and sales activities and develop new features for the platform. A second round of funding is anticipated in early 2008.

Mamiweb is an online social community platform for mothers and young women, providing advice on parenting. The platform was launched in May 2007 for the German-speaking region and registered more than 14,000 members within the first five months, while more than 200,000 users browsing the site each month.
People
Dr Jan Bomholt and Sven Eppert led the investment for b-to-v. Dr Gerhard Oellinger is the managing director of Mamiweb.
