Advent hires Buerstedde from Sun Capital
Advent International has hired Sun Capital’s Benjamin Buerstedde as a director for its industrials team in Frankfurt.
Buerstedde previously spent more than six years at Sun Capital's London office as a senior associate.
German media reports that Buerstedde will focus on operational improvements for Advent's portfolio companies. He will also support Germany heads Ronald Ayles, Ralf Huep and Ranjan Sen in deal sourcing. Ayles and Sen were promoted to managing directors in 2009.
The move follows principal Philippe Neuschäfer's departure from Sun Capital to join Nordic Capital in September 2014.
Sun Capital's Strauss Innovation, a Germany-based retailer, filed for insolvency in Q1 2014. Buerstedde led the initial buyout from EQT in December 2011. Strauss was bought out of insolvency by family office Mühleck in August 2014.
