Constellation acquires Douteil in MBO
Constellation Capital has acquired a majority stake in Douteil Smart Repair, a provider of paintless dent removal services for cars in Germany, together with the company’s management.
The MBO solves the succession planning issue faced by current sole owner and CEO Ralf Douteil. The management team, consisting of Ina Stalidzane and Christian Jaeger, has taken a minority stake.
Constellation aims to conduct a buy-and-build strategy within the highly fragmented market.
Company
Founded in 1995, Douteil is headquartered in Kamp-Lintfort. It focuses on removing hail damage on cars and its applied technique does not require lacquering or replacement. It claims to prevent significant loss of value and save insurance costs on cars, compared to conventional repairs.
Douteil has five further permanent locations in Essen, Dortmund, Hamburg, Munich and Kolbermoor, as well as up to 30 mobile units to react within 24 hours to mass hail damage in Germany and neighbouring countries Poland and Switzerland, as well as Brazil and the US.
Douteil has secured contracts with car insurance companies, which it claims ensures efficient damage claim handling and continuous customer referrals.
People
Rolf Douteil is the former sole owner and CEO of Douteil. Ina Stalidzane and Christian Jaeger form the company's management team.
