Brandnew raises $1.9m in seed round
Berlin-based digital ad campaign business Brandnew has received $1.9m in seed funding from a group of investors including Berlin Ventures.
Berlin Ventures has been joined by marketing business PubliGroupe, investor Lukas Kirche and the city of Berlin.
The seed funding includes a $1.1m grant from the city of Berlin's programme for promoting research, innovation and technology, Pro FIT.
Brandnew intends to put the fresh capital towards technology development, marketing and bringing in new brand partnerships, which currently include the likes of Coca-Cola and Adidas.
Previous funding
Brandnew completed a six-digit seed round in September 2013 from, among others, Oygo CEO Christoph Wilke, Clipkit founder Cengiz Kurt and an undisclosed marketing services group.
Company
Brandnew uses software to automatically find users of Instagram and Pinterest deemed to be influential, and contacts them to recruit them for Brandnew's network for native advertising on the social media platforms.
Brandnew was founded in early 2013 and now employs 14 people. In addition to Coca-Cola and Adidas, the company's major clients include Ford, L'Oreal and Uber.
