Constantia buys siOptica shares from HTGF
Austrian holding company Constantia New Business has bought High-Tech Gründerfonds’ shares in siOptica, a developer of privacy filters for screens and monitors.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Constantia became the main shareholder besides existing investor Beteiligungsmanagement Thüringen. The deal was closed within three months.
Constantia will take a seat on the company's advisory board. The management team, which consists of the three founders, will remain unaffected by the transaction.
The new investor stated that the wide range of potential customers, for example banks and phone and tablet producers, was what made the company attractive.
The GP also injected growth capital into the company as part of the deal. siOptica will use the funds to extend its product portfolio of switchable privacy filters.

High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) first invested in siOptica in August 2013, when it provided seed capital.
