Oakley's intergenia acquires German web hosting company
Oakley Capital Equity Partners’s (OCEP) portfolio company intergenia has bought web hosting provider Internet24.
Internet24 will be combined with intergenia's managed hosting brand PlusServer. The acquisition was financed through fresh debt.
Intergenia also trades under hosting brands called serverloft, Unmetered.com and Server4You, and owns WorldHostingDays, which organises web hosting conferences internationally.
OCEP bought a majority stake in intergenia in 2011, when it acquired 51% of the hosting provider headquartered in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia. It used €30m of equity and €10m of senior debt, provided by fund management company Oakley Capital Investments. The capital was originally planned to be used to support intergenia's growth strategy.
Intergenia has data centres in Strasbourg, France, and St Louis in the US, and focuses its business on small to medium enterprises. It was founded in 1999, by Thomas Strohe, Jochen Berger and Christoph Berger.
