High-Tech Gründerfonds has led a seed financing round for migenion GmbH, contributing €500k to the company in return for 15% equity. The founders invested a further €140k, with additional funding coming from various research institutions. The investors were attracted by the expertise of migenion’s founders in the market, as well as their products. The financing will be used for phase II studies of migenion’s rheumatoid arthritis camera system for monitoring disease activity, as well as to develop fluorescence contrast agents for optical imaging diagnostics. The company is looking to acquire funding from venture capital, private equity and corporate finance sources.
