Wheb makes first investment from new fund
Wheb Partners has completed its maiden investment from Green Growth Fund 2, taking a significant stake in UBC.
The Stuttgart-based firm, which produces components made of carbon fibre composite materials, will use the fresh funding to expand into new markets and geographies.
Wheb's Green Growth Fund 2 is a 2013 vintage vehicle with a €200m target. The vehicle is understood to have held a first close on €100m in recent months.
The vehicle includes the European Investment Bank among its LP base. The fund targets companies with a turnover of more than €5m with an average investment size of €10m, which can rise to €20m with co-investment from LPs such as Hermes.

Founded in 1993 and based near Stuttgart, UBC produces lightweight components made of carbon fibre composite materials. The company's customer base covers the automotive, aerospace and medical industries.
