
KfW backs Schutzklick
KfW has invested in German start-up Schutzklick, a provider of gadget insurance, alongside business angels and family offices.
New investor KfW provided equity for the transaction via its ERP Startfond, which focuses on technology companies in the German region. Since 2004, KfW has invested €720m from this fund.
Overall, Schutzklick has received external financing of more than €2.5m since May 2012. The company is also backed by Rheingau Founders, the incubator of global asset manager Mountain Partners, and by Berlin-based venture capital firm German Startups Group.
Furthermore, business angels such as Florian Schulte and Rudolf Gröger previously invested in Schutzklick.
Company
Schutzklick provides insurance for smartphones, laptops, cameras and tablets. It teams up with insurance companies, offering deals for technical gadgets to clients.
The firm currently employs 25 staff. Schutzklick was founded in 2012 and is based in Berlin.
People
Robin von Hein and Joachim von Bonin are Schutzklick's managing partners. Christoph Gerlinger is German Startup Group's CEO.
