
Seventure leads Webdata Solutions €4m series-A
Seventure Partners has led a €4m series-A funding round for Leipzig-based big data company Webdata Solutions.
Senovo, b-to-v Partners and Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS) also took part in the funding round.
The fresh funding will be used for the development of the company's Blackbee software and to finance international expansion. Webdata is currently expanding into the UK, and aims to move into other European markets and the US.
Company
Founded in 2012 as a spin-off from Leipzig University, Webdata Solutions has developed software enabling retailers and manufacturers to automate their competition monitoring. The Blackbee software automates pricing management and collects data on current trends and product availability.
The Blackbee service is currently available in the DACH region, Italy and Turkey. The company employs 40 people.
