HTGF’s Rebelle acquires competitor Glamloop
Capnamic Ventures, OP Ventures and Holtzbrinck Ventures portfolio company Glamloop has been purchased by direct competitor Rebelle in an all-equity transaction.
Rebelle, which operates as StyleRemains, has acquired a 100% stake in ATK Shopping Solutions, operator of the Glamloop website. Glamloop will continue to operate until the end of October before being incorporated into Rebelle's brand and website.
Rebelle also intends to focus on internationalisation in European markets outside Germany, already delivering to 25 countries.
In March, HTGF took part in Rebelle's €5m series-B funding round alongside existing investor Hanse Ventures and new investor HCS Beteiligungsgesellschaft.
Company
Founded in August 2013 and located in Munich, Glamloop offers second-hand designer fashion and accessories for men, women and children. Rebelle, by contrast, only sells women's luxury items.
Initially funded by investments from Capnamic, OP and Holtzbrinck, Glamloop enables sellers to directly market their items or use the website's sales process, which handles the entire sales process.
People
Cecile Gaulke is founder and managing director of Rebelle. Alexandra Podeanu and Kiana Mardi are Glamloop's founders. Marvin Andrä is an investment manager at HTGF.
