Iris Capital makes Gold partner in San Francisco
Digital-economy-focused Parisian VC Iris Capital has appointed Bernhard Gold as partner in its San Francisco office.
Gold will be based in the Californian town and take on the role as managing director of Iris Capital North America.
Before joining Iris, Gold served as managing director at T-Venture in the US – the corporate VC arm of Deutsche Telekom (T-Mobile) – where since 2010 he handled investment activities in North America. Prior to working in the US, Gold had been investment director for T-Venture in Germany since 2007.
Iris managers said Gold's in-depth knowledge of the Silicon Valley ecosystem and his extensive experience at a leading corporate VC firm will be of benefit to the firm. In his new role, he will help the firm pursue its strategic investment in entrepreneurs behind young innovative US-based startups.
