France's Apax appoints chief sustainability officer
Paris-headquartered Apax Partners has announced the appointment of Dominica Adam as chief sustainability officer.
The role is a newly created management position that will bolster the firm's focus on ESG, Apax said in a statement.
The GP has been a signatory of the UN's Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) since 2011 and creates ESG strategies for each of its portfolio companies.
In her new role, Adam will focus on the further integration of sustainability in the core business of Apax's portfolio companies. She has prior experience as head of Axa Group's sustainable development department, as well as at Vigeo, an extra-financial rating agency.
Apax is currently deploying equity via vehicles including Apax Midmarket X (formerly Apax France X), which held a final close in July 2021 on EUR 1.6bn, surpassing its EUR 1.2bn target. Apax generally invests in French and European companies, targeting businesses with enterprise values of up to EUR 500m and deploying equity tickets of EUR 100m-200m.
The GP's recent investments include customer relationship management (CRM) software developer Efficy, which the firm acquired in September 2021.
Other sponsors who have recently expanded their sustainability and ESG-focused teams include Triton, which announced the appointment of Ashim Paun as head of sustainable investing in its ESG team in September 2021, as reported.
