Iris bolsters Paris and Berlin teams with two hires
European VC firm Iris Capital has hired Nicolas Herschtel as partner from InfraVia and Silvia Ersetti as analyst from Gorillas.
Herschtel joins the Paris team and will be in charge of growth activities in France and Europe, while Ersetti joins the Berlin team to be in charge of late stage and growth deal flow in the DACH region and across Europe, according to a press release.
"Nicolas is an exceptional growth investor and a natural fit to the ambitious growth team we're building in Germany and France," Curt Gunsenheimer, managing partner at Iris told Unquote. "Silvia brings experience of European scaleups to our multicultural team of investment experts and tech professionals."

Prior to joining the firm, Herschtel launched InfraVia's growth activity in Europe. Before that, he was deputy managing director at Bpifrance Large Venture, where he led digital investments for several years. He started his career in private equity at Batipart and Covivio before starting to invest in tech companies in 2010. He has been specializing in later stage and growth investments for the past ten years, with a strong digital expertise in enterprise software, digital platforms and marketplaces, according to the press release.
Herschtel has previously collaborated with the firm on deals such as Talend, Kyriba and Lumapps, while investing and being at the board of startups, including Doctolib, Contentsquare, Payfit and Botify, according to the press release.
Ersetti is specialized in tech companies' analysis, looking for the upcoming tech giants across Europe and especially in Germany, according to the press release. She joins Iris from the grocery delivery startup Gorillas, where she worked in the strategy and operations team in Berlin. Previously, she was a consultant at EY in Milan.
"Nicolas and Silvia represent a new generation of investors who are looking beyond industry specialization, into tech expertise and our growth team can definitely count on them to ensure we remain always ahead of our time," said Gunsenheimer.
Iris aims to build-up its growth team with these hires to continue and extend its tech investments through seed, Series A, late stage and growth investments.
The VC firm has offices and teams in Paris, Berlin, and Munich.
