Argos-backed Buffet Crampon acquires Schreiber & Keilwerth

Part of the financing for the transaction was provided by Argos Soditic, which acquired nearly 90% of Groupe Buffet Crampon in 2005. The remainder was provided by the Fonds Patrimoine et Création managed by CDC Entreprises.

Schreiber & Keilwerth has been a Buffet Crampon partner for many years, both industrially and commercially. Argos Soditic stated that the merger of the two companies will create numerous synergies, enabling Buffet Crampon to consolidate its position on the European musical instruments market.

Founded in 1925, Schreiber & Keilwerth manufactures woodwind instruments and saxophones. Based in Nauheim, Germany, it has been in insolvency since March 2010. The acquisition will open up new markets for Buffet Crampon and bring €8m in additional turnover. It will also help preserve 134 jobs in Schreiber & Keilwerth's Markneukirchen factory.
