Lazard appoints Andrez for French mid-market team
Investment bank Lazard has appointed Canaccord Genuity’s Charles Andrez as managing director in its France-based mid-market team.
Andrez will be based in Lazard's Paris offices and will provide M&A and corporate finance advice to clients within the European mid-market.
His appointment comes on the back of Lazard's work as corporate finance adviser in recent transactions in France, including the MBO Partenaires-backed buyout of engineering contractor Mont Blanc Matériaux and Cinven's takeover of lift material provider Tractel.
Prior to Lazard, Andrez worked as a managing director at fellow adviser Canaccord Genuity. During his 13-year stint at the firm, he specialised in M&A services for private equity clients within the mid-cap space.
During the earlier stages of his career, he was employed by ING Barings and Rothschild.
The hire takes place six months after Lazard promoted Matthieu Pigasse, the CEO of its French operations, to head of M&A operations worldwide.
