BNPP PE backs Acropolis Telecom with additional €1.8m
BNP Paribas Private Equity (BNPP PE) has invested a further €1.8m in French telecom operator Acropolis Telecom. This is the second time BNPP PE has invested in Acropolis, having initially invested €700,000 in May 2009.
The fresh capital will allow the company to continue its growth plan, including acquisitions in the French market in order reach a national footprint. Additionally, Acropolis will look to grow organically by focusing on its value-added offerings in fixed and mobile telephony convergence and unified email services.
Based in Bagnolet, Acropolis was founded in 2001 by Samie Koleilat. The company is a private network operator and focuses on corporate VPN MPLS and voice-over IP services. Acropolis also offers internet access via both LAN and WAN as well as security applications including firewalls, filters and anti-virus detectors. The business has partnerships with the likes of Cegetel, T Systems and France Telecom, and customers in London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. In 2009, the company generated a turnover of €5m, an increase of 25% from the 2008 total.
