Smartangels in €3.5m round from Idinvest et al.
Paris-based crowdfunding-for-equity platform Smartangels has raised €3.5m for its expansion in a second funding round.
The round includes new investor Financière Duval – a French real estate group – as well as previous investors Elaia Partners and Idinvest Partners, which invested via the investment vehicle InnovAllianz.
Smartangels' partnership with insurance company Allianz France and with Idinvest enabled it to launch an investment fund dedicated to crowdfunding, which helped finance around 15 businesses this year.
The company has also established partnerships with Fortuneo and BNP Paribas Securities Services.
With the fresh capital, the startup stated it will recruit a dozen professionals from different sectors to complement its team.
Previous funding
In April 2014, Smartangels raised €1m in a first round provided jointly by Elaia Partners, XAnge and Idinvest, and complemented by a pool of business angels.
