Omnes leads €8.4m round for Bankin'
Omnes Capital has led a €8.4m venture round for banking app Bankin' alongside other investors.
Other investors included CommerzVentures, the venture capital arm of German bank Commerzbank Group, and Generation NewTech. Previous investors in the group, including business angels, also recommitted capital on this occasion.
The group claims to currently have one-and-a-half million users and two million connected bank accounts, with 300 million transactions registered each month. With Omnes's support, it will target 10 million users by 2020, with plans to expand into Germany, Spain and the UK, according to a company statement.
Previous funding
In 2011, Bankin' received €400,000 in a seed funding round provided by business angels. This was shortly followed by a venture round amounting to €1m and led by GenerationNewTech.
Company
Founded in 2011 in Paris by Joan Burkovic and Robin Dauzin, Bankin' is a banking and personal finance app first launched for iPhone. The app gives users access to their bank accounts in real time, enabling them to control their expenses with graphs and customised analyses.
Bankin' claims that it has 1.5 million users today, with two million synchronised bank accounts and 300 million synchronised transactions every month. The app is connected to 350 banks in Europe and is available in four countries, including France. The startup currently has a staff of 30.
