Accel, BPI in €26m series-C round for Doctolib
Accel Partners and BPI France have taken part in a €26m series-C round of funding for French healthcare platform Doctolib.
The round was led by BPI, which was joined by Accel and a number of business angels.
Accel first invested in the group through a €20m series-B round, which it led in 2015. Last year, the VC held a first and final close for its Accel London V fund on its €500m hard-cap.
Having recently launched operations in Berlin, Doctolib intends to continue its expansion throughout Europe, with a launch planned in three new cities, according to a company press release. The group is also planning to recruit more than 150 new people over the coming year.
Previous funding
Over the last three years, Doctolib has raised a total of €50m in funding from several investors, including BPI France, Accel, Kerala Ventures, and various business angels. The funds were raised over four different rounds: a €1m seed and a €4m series-A both provided by business angels, a €20m series-B led by Accel Partners, and the latest round led by BPI.
Company
Founded in October 2013, Doctolib is an online medical booking and internet services platform for healthcare professionals.
Doctolib currently employs 300 employees and has offices in 35 cities in France and Germany. It also collaborates with 17,000 practitioners and 435 health facilities, and claims to service six million patients on its sites.
