Seventure Partners leads €1.3m round for Botfuel
Seventure Partners has led a €1.3m round for Paris-based chatbot developer Botfuel, alongside secondary investor Breega Capital.
The seed round is the first time the Parisian startup has ever raised institutional funding.
Seventure invested via its seed vehicle Quadrivium 1. Closed on €56.2m in December 2015, Quadrivium invests tickets of €300,000-2.8m in young companies operating within the life sciences, IT, communications, robotics, cleantech, environmental and digital technology sectors.
Earlier this year, Quadrivium provided €1.5m for CryoCapCell, and last year €1.2m for tactile tech maker Actronika. Previous investments with the vehicle include Aenitis Technologies, HorseCom, MilliDrop and PEP-Therapy.
Breega Capital closed its Venture One fund on €45m last year. The vehicle aims to provide digital startups with a mix of seed and series-A rounds, with tickets ranging between €500,000-2m. Recent investments include FoodChéri (€6m round with 360 Capital Partners) and Exotec Solutions (€3.3m round with 360 Capital).
This round of funding should allow Botfuel to pursue the development of its chatbot platform and to hire up to 15 employees by the end of the year.
