Runa and XAnge in €4m Yoopies series-A

In addition to its €4m fundraising, the company raised an undisclosed amount that was used to purchase UK competitor FindaBabysitter.

The capital will help launch its new service YoopiesAtWork, designed for companies to provide benefits to staff. Numerous third-party service offers will also be added to the site, including on-demand laundry services, personal trainers, massage therapists and online medical consultations.

The firm's CEO Benjamin Suchar told unquote" it was also looking to expand in Europe, especially Germany, and would consider takeover approaches for similar firms in other European countries.

Launched in 2012, Yoopies started by connecting parents with babysitters through an online platform before expanding into homecare services. It currently has more than two million caregivers in Europe offering babysitting, tutoring, elderly care, housekeeping and pet sitting. The company also completes administrative work for parents using government assistance programmes. It currently employs around 40 people.
