
Raise Investissement buys stake in La Maison du Whisky
Private equity firm Raise Investissement has acquired a minority stake in family-owned French whisky distributor La Maison du Whisky.
The deal sees the founding Benitah family retain a majority stake in the company alongside high-net-worth individuals Sophie and Alban Neveux.
Raise Investissement makes minority investments of between €30-40m in companies with revenues of €50-500m. According to its website, the firm has €350m in capital at its disposal.
The GP recently jointly acquired artistic renovation specialist Mériguet-Carrère from Qualium Investissement alongside IDI and a pool of investors.

Founded in 1965 and based in Paris, La Maison du Whisky imports and distributes rare whiskies across the French market. The business also sells other spirits, including rum, cognac, armagnac, gin and vodka.
According to press reports, the business posted €80m in revenues in 2016 with a 13% EBITDA margin.
