
Serena et al. inject €12m into Vekia
A group of venture backers including Serena Capital and BPI France have injected €12m into French supply chain technology business Vekia.
Pleiade Venture, CapHorn Invest and ZTP also took part in the round, which was led by Serena. Pleiade, CapHorn and ZTP were existing backers of the business, having invested €2.4m in 2015.
BPI France invested via the Fonds Ambition Numerique vehicle.
Vekia plans to use the fresh funding to accelerate its technological development and expand internationally, notably in the UK, the US and China.
Company
Established in 2008, Vekia is a publisher of supply chain optimisation software for retail companies, based on machine learning and artificial intelligence. The company aims to allow retailers to accurately predict and manage demand in stores and warehouses, in order to avoid stocking unnecessary items. Its clients include Galeries Lafayette, Mr Bricolage, But, Leroy Merlin and Etam.
Headquartered in Lille, France, the company has 60 employees.
