
Newfund invests €1.2m in LoginChinese
French VC Newfund has secured a minority stake in Chinese-teaching app developer LoginChinese.
A spokesperson for Newfund confirmed that Newfund 2 was used for the transaction. The fund held a first close in May this year on €100m.
The new round of funding will notably support the startup's international expansion, as LoginChinese aims to have its product used in Germany, the UK and China.
Company
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Paris, LoginChinese allows teachers and students in middle schools, high schools and universities to teach and learn Chinese.
The app collects data to personalise the exercises proposed, depending on the learner's particular needs. The startup works with 10 companies and 50 schools, reaching 8,000 students. LoginChinese expects to have revenues of around €2m in 2018 and currently has a staff of 20.
