Eurazeo's Asmodée bolts-on Lookout
Eurazeo-backed French games producer and distributor Asmodée Group has acquired the Germany-based board and card game business Lookout.
The bolt-on did not require extra financing from Eurazeo.
This month, Asmodée also announced the acquisition of polish company Rebel. Headquartered in Gdańsk, Rebel is a producer and distributor of own-brand and third party board games and hobby products.
Asmodée owns a portfolio of board and card games including Magic and Pokemon, and has made a number of bolt-on acquisitions since Eurazeo first invested in the business in 2013.
A spokesperson from Eurazeo confirmed that the initial investment in Asmodée was made via the GP's balance sheet, rather than with capital drawn from a fund.
Lookout will remain an independent studio within Asmodée. North American distribution duties will now be handled by Asmodée North America, and the European distribution for English language products will be handled by Asmodée European distribution business units. The remaining territories will fall under the responsibility of Asmodée Group, situated in Paris.

Founded in 2000 and based in Schwabenheim an der Selz, Lookout is a board games producer and distributor.
