Ventech et al. in series-B round for The Agent
Ventech, Generis Capital Partners and BPI France have backed French e-commerce retail platform The Agent, investing €7m in a series-B round.
Ventech and Generis invested €6.5m, while BPI France provided senior debt amounting to €500,000.
A source close to the deal confirmed the series-A round arranged towards the end of 2015 saw MG-Kapinvest ans Les Entrepreneurs Réunis invest €2m.
The series-B round of funding will help The Agent accelerate the technological development of the platform and reinforce its international presence, particularly in China.
Company
Founded in 2014 and based in Paris, The Agent currently helps 600 retail and cosmetics brands to expand abroad. Through its B2B service, brands can integrate into a network of 90 e-commerce retailers such as eBay, Amazon, Privalia and Reebonz. The platform connects brands with e-retailers in 30 countries in Europe, North America, the Middle East & Africa and Oceania.
The Agent generated a turnover of €10m in 2017.
