Pechel backs Vernicolor
France-based GP Pechel has acquired a minority stake in Vernicolor Group, a French manufacturer of decorated parts for the automotive industry.
CEO François Champier and management have retained the remainder.
Pechel typically invests in companies generating a €15-200m turnover, acquiring minority and majority stakes. The GP is currently investing via its Pechel Industries IV vehicle, closed on €160m in 2014.
PE-backing will help Vernicolor pursue its international expansion.

Founded in 1970, Vernicolor is a specialist in decorated parts for the automotive market. With headquarters in Meudon, the group has facilities in France, Romania and Tunisia, and employs 910 people. Some of the services offered include plating, painting and parts assembly. The business generated sales of €44m in 2017, 77% of which came from international customers.
