Generis Capital et al. back Naskeo
A consortium of investors led by Generis Capital Partners has injected €12m in France-based Naskeo, a biogas plants developer.
Generis, Citizen Capital, Sigma Gestion and Supernova Invest are taking part in the round, alongside Naskeo's management team and cooperative Scara.
The round of funding will help the business in its recruitment efforts and international growth. A first biogas plant will operate in Japan from September 2018, and plants in Europe and Africa are planned for the coming years.
Previous funding
XAnge Private Equity and Idinvest Partners first backed the business (then known as Naskeo Environnement) in 2007.
Subsequently, the two GPs provided funding to the company in 2014 to acquire competitor, Methajade.
Company
Founded in 2005 by four engineering students, Naskeo is an anaerobic digestion specialist, a process by which organic matter is reused to produce biogas and a digestate that is used as a fertilizer. The company, based in Malakoff and Bouguenais, employs 60 people and achieved a turnover of €13m in 2017, a growth of 100% compared to 2016.
In 13 years, Naskeo has built more than 30 biogas units, and 10 plants are currently under construction. The business claims to cover 15% of the biogas market in France.
