VC-backed BlaBlaCar raises €101m, acquires Ouibus
VC-backed French carpooling platform BlaBlaCar has raised an extra €101m and initiated exclusive talks to acquire Ouibus, a low-cost bus transportation service, from railway company SNCF.
BlaBlaCar also raised €101m in funding from SNCF and its existing investors. Accel, Insight Venture Partners, Vostok New Venture and Lead Edge Capital previously backed the business.
SNCF has secured a minority stake in BlaBlaCar, Unquote understands.

The last round of funding recorded by Unquote for the startup was a $200m series-D round from Insight Venture Partners and existing backer Lead Edge Capital, doubling the amount raised during its previous round in 2014.
