Eurazeo's Sommet Education bolts on Ducasse Education
Eurazeo’s Sommet Education, a Switzerland-based culinary arts and pastry school, has acquired 51% of Ducasse Education, a France-based peer.
The remaining 49% stake in Ducasse education will be retained by its founder, chef Alain Ducasse, according to French publication Le Figaro.
The valuation of Ducasse of around €5m reported by press reports is roughly correct, Unquote understands.
Ducasse Education will benefit from the Summit Education structures, particularly for the recruitment of new students and Eurazeo's expertise in international development, CSR and digitalisation, according to a statement by Eurazeo.
The GP acquired Education Sommet in 2016, buying a 74.8% stake. The higher-education institution was set up as a result of the acquisition and merger of hotel management establishments Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches Global Hospitality Education, respectively founded in 1962 and 1954. It is established in Clarens, Switzerland. The business generated a turnover of CHF 156m in 2018, according to Eurazeo's website.
Eurazeo was not available for comment at the time of publication.
