Omnes, Irdi Soridec invest €4m in Solvionic
Omnes and Irdi Soridec have invested €4m in France-based Solvionic, a startup specialised in fine chemistry and the production of high-purity materials.
The fresh capital will allow Solvionic to strengthen its sales teams and increase its production capacity.
Omnes' venture team is currently investing via its Omnes Real Tech fund. The vehicle held a first close in March this year and had collected €97m as of July, Unquote previously reported. The fund's target is in the €100-150m range. The GP has declined to comment on how advanced the fundraising process is.
Irdi Soridec's venture arm typically invests €500,000-3m in startups.
Company
Founded in 2003 and based in Toulouse, Solvionic produces high-purity materials (ionic liquids) used in batteries that are deemed safer, more powerful and longer lasting. Solvionic generates 80% of its export sales in Europe, the US, Japan and Korea.
