Consortium invests €22m in InterCloud
A group of backers led by Orange Digital Ventures has injected €22m into France-based InterCloud, a cloud access service.
Taking part in the round were new investors Orange Digital Ventures, Open CNP, UL Invest and Weber Invest, and existing backers CapHorn Invest, Ventech, Hi Inov, SNCF Digital Ventures and BPI France.
The new investment is expected to help InterCloud accelerate the development of new services and strengthen its presence in Germany, Benelux, Spain and the UK.
Previous founding
CapHorn and Ventech provided InterCloud with €3.5m in funding in 2014. These backers, alongside new investors Hi Inov and BPI France, then injected €10m into the company three years later. Hi Inov invested via the Hi Inov1 and SNCF Digital Ventures vehicles.
Company
Founded in 2010, InterCloud is a cloud applications interconnection specialist. It claims to enable companies to simplify their infrastructures, offering them greater visibility and control over their multi-cloud applications. The business is based in Paris.
This summer, InterCloud signed an agreement with French rail company SNCF to support its cloud implementation plans in the coming years.
